What I’ve been experiencing so far since I’ve been a Law Student as a single mother.
As a single mother, my journey has taken me down vibrant and unexpected paths—especially after witnessing the tragic murder of George Floyd. This pivotal moment ignited a fire within me, prompting me to return to school for law. I wanted to be a voice for the voiceless, a champion for justice.
In my quest for personal growth, I sought guidance from renowned spiritual coach Iyanla Vanzant. Her wisdom and support helped me expand my existing business while I balanced my corporate role as a sales executive. Juggling these responsibilities was no small feat, but I was determined to make a difference.
I launched my podcast,
“What We’ve Been Waiting For: Unedited,” as a platform to educate others about their human rights. Through candid discussions, I shed light on the consequences of prioritizing profit over community, and how this mindset has led us to our current state of affairs. It’s disheartening to see people scrambling to rewrite history, avoiding accountability for their actions. But I refuse to shy away from the hard truths.
I acknowledge my own shortcomings, particularly in not following through on my commitment to attend law school sooner. I am dedicated to honoring those who paved the way for me while also uplifting those who will walk behind me. This journey has been humbling, often revealing how elusive genuine peace, love, and liberation can feel in a world driven by greed.
As a child of God and a warrior for justice, I embrace my truth and the responsibility that comes with it. My experiences are not just mine; they resonate with many who seek change. Together, we can challenge the status quo and work towards a brighter future. Join me on this journey as we strive for a world where accountability, justice, and community thrive.
