Rising IS Shining ✨⚔️🛡️
In today's world, it's inspiring to see individuals stepping up to make a difference. I recently learned that a rapper is going back to school, and I think it's fantastic. I genuinely hope more artists follow suit and engage with their communities. Two years ago, my cousin shared his harrowing experiences with police abuse as a teenager simply for being Black, and it opened my eyes to the harsh realities many face. I had no idea just how prevalent this issue was.( besides when I learned about it, when George Floyd was murdered, which was the initial inspiration for me to go back to school for my law degree)
What’s baffling is that some people know about these injustices yet choose to stay silent. While we have incredible civil rights activists like Ben Crump, we also need everyday individuals to take action. Why do we often wait for celebrities to ignite change? It’s not about becoming an attorney; it’s about genuinely caring for our youth and all communities in need, not just those that fit a specific demographic.
Many people remain tethered to superficial validations instead of embracing their inherent purpose as blessings in this world. We must ask ourselves: when will we rise to the occasion? It’s time to prioritize the victims of crime and address the real suffering in our communities, rather than offering hollow support. Let’s make a genuine effort to care—it's time for real change.
